Images Of Mixed-Use Hull Development Released

Hull is set to benefit from a £96 million mixed-use scheme, with images of the proposed development having been released.

FaulknerBrowns Architects has joined forces with landscape architects Gillespies to create the proposals for the Albion Square project.

According to images, this includes residential, office and retail space, in addition to a large urban park, with the units complementing the Georgian style of buildings in the area.

Leader of Hull City Council and portfolio holder for regeneration councillor Daren Hale stated this initiative keeps “Hull’s history and heritage at its heart”.

He went on to mention Alan Boyson’s Three Ships Mural, telling Invest Hull: “The iconic mural will be the face of what will transform the city centre, creating first-class housing, retail units and office space, along with a unique and stunning urban woodland.”

There will also be retail space facing Albion Square, modern apartments with rooftop gardens, and family homes with private outdoor space reflecting the style of architecture that already exists on Albion Street. The urban park will include bridges, decks, seating areas, and a bike hub.

Hull City Council’s construction partner VINCI Construction UK has been put in charge of delivering the impressive scheme, with work expected to begin in 2023.

FaulknerBrowns Architects is also preparing to transform St James’ Gate in Dublin, which has been home to the Guinness Brewery for more than 250 years. It will redevelop the 12-acre site to create a sustainable new urban quarter.
