Getting to know the Commercial Property Team
So Luiza, please can you tell us a bit more about yourself...............
My name is Luiza.
I am originally from Poland and I emigrated to Hull with my parents and my sister at the age of 6. I’m fluent in both English and Polish. I went to primary school and secondary school in Hull. I enjoyed school, mainly because I enjoyed learning new things. I also enjoyed performing at school events and was a part of sports clubs.
I chose Law as a subject to study in Sixth Form which was where I developed a passion for the law and knew that I had to study it at University. I am a first-generation University graduate. I received an unconditional offer to study Law at the University of Hull and was awarded a merit-based scholarship. I enjoyed everything about my Law course – from attending lectures and trying to soak in every bit of information to preparing to present defendant and prosecutor speeches for a seminar. During my Law course, I developed an interest in commercial law.
My aspiration is to become a solicitor and I feel that my position at Ancora Law is a big step towards achieving my goal. I am grateful to have got the opportunity to work with Matthew who is very supportive and very good at what he does. Being able to get legal training and experience how a Commercial Property Law firm operates has been great so far and I feel like I’ve learnt a lot already.
Due to my interest in the Law and my wanting to help people, I have written an article for a company called Legal Diversity. My article was about the importance of diversity in the legal sector, a topic which I am passionate about. I enjoy writing and, during my legal career, I hope to take up volunteering opportunities to write more legal content and share my passion for the law with others. My plans for the near future include taking up the Legal Practice Course part time whilst continuing to work in a law firm. I am looking forward to developing my knowledge of commercial property law at Ancora Law.
